Ready to get your line wet and chase some stripers? Captain Horte and the Blueline Fishing Charters crew are itching to get you on the water for some serious South Shore action. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just getting your sea legs, we've got everything you need for a killer day of fishing. From rods and reels to bait and licenses, we've got you covered. And with flexible start times, you can hit the water when it suits you best.
Our trips are all about giving you the best shot at landing some trophy fish. Half-day charters keep us close to home, working the rich waters around Hingham and Hull. If you're up for a full day, we'll push out further, maybe hitting the Boston Harbor Islands or cruising down to Cohasset and Scituate. And hey, if the bite is on and you're having a blast, we can always extend the trip for a few extra hours. It's your day, we'll make it count.
When it comes to inshore fishing, we've got a few tricks up our sleeves. We might start the day chunking for blues, then switch to live-lining pogies for stripers as the tide changes. If the surface action is hot, we'll break out the topwater lures and watch those bass explode on them. We know all the local honey holes - from the rocky shorelines where big stripers lurk to the rips and channels where bluefish tear through bait schools. Captain Horte's been fishing these waters for years, and he's got a sixth sense for where the fish are holding.
"We fished 3 days with Captain Dave and his deck hand Steve. These guys are pros and very informative all day looong. We caught striped bass, haddock, cod, our limit of 15 lobster, and many other fish with these Boston guys!! My daughter, cousins, and friends have made lasting memories with bluelines fishing charters." - Mark
"Captain Dave and his first mate Steve were absolutely phenomenal! I booked this trip for family coming into town every though it's not typical fishing season (for us general folk), but we were not disappointed. It was a chillier day and the forecast called for high winds. Capt Dave was so communicative and offered recommendations to make the trip a better experience beforehand. Capt Dave and Steve were so kind and knowledgeable, it was clear they are not only good at what they do, but they love and respect the sport. They made sure we were comfortable and successful and I would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting the best charter boat experience!" - Jackie
"We had the best morning with Capt. Dave and mate Matt! It was my birthday and wanted to take my grandkids fishing, and they both caught big strippers! Will definately return and Recommend to anyone especially with kids, they learned so much from them! Thank you, captain Dave and Matt, for a terrific morning!" - Susan
Striped Bass: The crown jewel of Northeast inshore fishing, stripers are what bring anglers back year after year. These hard-fighting fish can grow to over 50 pounds, and they're known for their powerful runs and acrobatic leaps. Spring and fall are prime times to target stripers as they migrate along the coast. There's nothing quite like the thrill of watching a big striper crush a topwater lure at dawn.
Bluefish: If you're looking for a fight, bluefish are your ticket. These toothy predators are pure muscle and attitude. They'll hit just about anything that moves and put up a scrappy battle all the way to the boat. Bluefish typically show up in force during the summer months, creating frenzied surface blitzes as they chase bait schools. Watching a pack of blues tear into a school of pogies is a sight you won't soon forget.
Look, the fish are out there waiting, and we've got the know-how to put you on them. Whether you're dreaming of that trophy striper or just want to bend a rod and make some memories, we've got you covered. Our trips fill up fast, especially during peak season, so don't wait to lock in your date. Grab your crew, pack some snacks, and get ready for a day on the water you'll be talking about for years to come. The South Shore's calling - let's go fishing!

Professional service with Captain and crew!! Although it did rain early for a short time; we lost track of how many fish we caught in the first hour!! My daughter, nephew and I score this day of fishing as a perfect 10.

Bluefish are like the punks of the ocean - aggressive, toothy, and always looking for a fight. These guys typically run 3-10 pounds, but we see some 15-pounders come through. Blues show up in our waters around June and stick around till October. You'll find them busting bait on the surface - just look for the birds dive-bombing. These fish are pure muscle and will test your gear, so bring sturdy tackle. Blues are a blast on light spinning gear or fly rods. For the best action, toss metal lures or poppers into the frenzy. Fair warning: watch your fingers when unhooking them. Their razor-sharp teeth are no joke. Bluefish make for some tasty eating too, especially when grilled fresh. Pro tip: bleed them right away and get them on ice for the best flavor.
Striped bass are the crown jewel of our South Shore fishery. These powerful fighters typically run 20-40 pounds, with some real monsters topping 50. You'll find them cruising near structure along the coast, especially during their spring and fall migrations. Stripers love cooler water, so early mornings and evenings are prime time. Nothing beats the thrill of a big bass smashing your topwater lure at dawn. These fish put up an amazing fight and taste great too - mild, flaky meat perfect for grilling. If you're after a trophy, try live-lining mackerel or throwing big swimming plugs around rocky points. Just remember to match your gear to the size of the fish - 30-pound braid and a medium-heavy rod will give you the edge you need to land that fish of a lifetime.
